A tobacco trader suffered cardiac complications during raid by GST officers.
GST team took the trader to the hospital where he underwent angioplasty and his life could be saved. After the incident, the trader’s son thanked the GST officers and also agreed to pay GST along with fine.
“A flying squad raided his shop and caught him red-handed. While the squad members were checking for unaccounted transactions, the trader who is in his 60s, started sweating and feeling uneasy. He later pointed towards his chest and complained of pain. The squad members immediately took him to the hospital in the official car,” the official said.
He added that later the team returned to the shop and completed the raid and even imposed a fine on the trader for defaulting on GST.
